Overview Codes & Decodes Do-It-Yourself

Codes & Decodes

One of the most frequent problems users have with their state-of-the-art systems is when the system suddenly asks for its security code to be entered and you don't know how or what to enter. This frequently happens if either (a) the car has been serviced and the power supply from the battery has been temporarily disconnected; or (b) you've recently bought the car second-hand and don't have all of the appropriate user guides, etc.

Reputable service agents may be able to decode the unit for you. However, depending on whether or not you know the code, you may be able to solve the problem yourself.

Here at BlueICE.org.uk - the UK's leading source of reference information on in-car-entertainment equipment - we have incorporated our reknowned guide "Do I Need a Decode?", which is packed with suggestions of what you can try before calling in the experts.

We currently have information available for models from the following manufacturers - click on yours for a full index of models - and would welcome your advice on instructions for additional models so that even more people can find a solution for free.
